Gia101 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi, I am fairly new to autocad and could really use some help on this! I am trying to fit a model to the Paper Space (Layout Tab). I've tried everything from using SCALE to MVIEW commands and tweeking the Viewports. The only way I know how to fix it is to copy the model into a new drawing, but it is a pain to do that! I've attached pics of the model. What I am trying to do is make current (image 1 left) look like ideal.(image 2 right) Thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Metric or imperial units? One thing for certain you do not use the SCALE command. However you do want to assign a scale to your viewport. There are at least four ways that I know of this can be done. One way is via your Properties palette. By the way, after you have assigned a scale you can live with lock your viewport display so the scale doesn't get messed up. Quote
Dana W Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 That's quite a bit to explain in a post, but we will get you there. What size paper are you going to plot on? Is your model drawn in modelspace at full size? For starters check out this video tutorial found here on the forum at Tutorials >> AutoCad >> The Basics >> Learning AutoDesk AutoCad 2014 >> Sample Videos >> Viewports Part 1. Quote
ReMark Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 You are aware that viewports can be resized using their grips right? I could point you to a thread that outlines many aspects of paper space viewports if you are interested. Quote
BIGAL Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 1st thing place your title block or draw a rectang the size of your paper sheet at a 1:1 scale in paperspace resize the viewport and start from there. Take up Remarks offer there are some good tutorilas here. Quote
