vertical horizons Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 What is the proper method to import Solidworks parts & assemblies to AutoCAD? I have tried saving the Solidworks file as an ACIS (.sat), then going to AutoCAD, & attempting to import that file, but that doesn't work. I searched the archives, but did not find a solution. (I didn't go through all of the "search pages". After page 4, I figured I wasn't going to find an answer there.) Quote
JD Mather Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Later versions of AutoCAD will open *.sldprt and *.sldasm files directly (from 1 release earlier, ex AutoCAD 2014 will read SWx 2013 (but not SWx 2014)). Autodesk products with open ACIS (*.sat) files up to version 7 ACIS. In SolidWorks when saving as ACIS file type select Options and set down to v7 (ACIS is now up to something like v22). Quote
