JDeRosa Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Hello All, I have an area that needs batt insulation show in it that starts at 6" wide and go to 12" wide. Is there a lisp or hatch that auto scales batt insulation in the same manor a poly can do so? Thank for the help. Quote
ReMark Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 The space the insulation is going in is tapered? Quote
JDeRosa Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Yes the space is tapered. I can do it manually by scaling each loop on its own but was trying to see if there was a LISP for it to do it faster. Quote
ReMark Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Maybe the hatch pattern attached to post #44 of this thread can be of some use. Note that Manila Wolf has also provided a link to a lisp routine by Kent1Cooper but I'm pretty sure that does NOT automatically taper. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?34348-Batt-Insulation-Hatch/page5&highlight=insulation Quote
JDeRosa Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Please see the attached picture to show what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Thanks. I got the picture. Try the hatch pattern I previously suggested. The lisp routine won't do what you want. Quote
Dana W Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Will this help? It is a hatch pattern. Attached is a drawing, and the BATT hatch file as a text file. Change the file extension on the BATT file from .txt to .pat in windows. Personally, I think you are looking for the batt insulation to look way too perfect. It is usually not something that is worthy of more than a cursory attempt at a graphic representation. Quote
BIGAL Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 There may have been a lisp done to do this, it was done I think a couple of years ago for speaker insulation. Mybe try a search for speaker or insul Quote
hugha Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Searching online with "insulation" and "lisp" gets a number of promising hits. As mentioned, all a hatch can offer is a uniform application of the pattern it contains. Tapering in the manner shown is not possible with a hatch. Quote
BIGAL Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 You can create the pattern you want as a pline I have done it but it only works for paralell lines the tapers add considerable extra calcs. Good you may have found something. Quote
Dana W Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Seriously? For a batt insulation hatch? This really seems like a huge waste of effort for something that is merely a graphic symbol. Are there any drafting shops that require this much excruciating detail for something that is not even a true scale representation? I have never been exposed to this kind of requirement in 42 years of drafting residential homes literally stuffed with fiberglass batt insulation. Really, this is simply not worth the time. The standard batt hatch with portions of it cut off by the taper is fine. Quote
BIGAL Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Dana W, found this, now to find matching post, this was a straight version but pretty sure the older post was curved I think Lee-mac did this one. Lee ? Quote
BIGAL Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Have a look at this http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?34348-Batt-Insulation-Hatch&highlight=insulation lots of posts hint read all answer is last. Still looking for speaker program. Just a thought check out the stretch hatch program by GP that may do it. Quote
