simoneug Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Hi, I am new to AutoCAD and have to export many drawings to PDF format to send them out to clients. I was wondering if their was a Macro or some other way to export drawings into pdf form without having to open each file and pressing export to pdf button? Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks Quote
simoneug Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 rkent, Thanks for the quick response. How do I use the publish command across multiple files in a folder? Quote
rkent Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Start the PUBLISH command, add the layouts needed, select them all, upper left is a Publish to: pull down, pick PDF... Quote
simoneug Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Do I still need to open each file individually to do this? Quote
Gatekeeper101 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) if its a bunch of individual drawings, try a sheetset http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-745f.htm,topicNumber=d0e36857 then you can publish from the sheetset manager to a PDF and all the layouts of the sheetset will be in the PDF. Publishing from sheetset http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-5e6e.htm,topicNumber=d0e145587 Edited December 4, 2013 by Gatekeeper101 Added link for publishing from sheetset Quote
Bill Tillman Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 There's a caveat to the Publish command that you should be aware of. If you don't have all the Page Properties set for each layout tab, then you're going to have some troubles. Automation is a nice thing to use, but many time automating in AutoCAD means setting it up to use automation in the first place. Quote
cadvision Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 you could use RxHighlight from Rasterex. ww.rasterex.com. Can batch print and convert. No need to use an AutoCAD license either Quote

If the Page Setups are not correct, a correct one can be imported and assigned to all from within the publish command. I keep a file with all of the page set ups that I need so I can import from it. Import it to the top sheet, then select all to assign it to the rest all at once. Quote
