hey folks

Recently wrote a program to convert entities from there existing layers to a standard industry layers. the program itselfworks fine.

However once the program has purged all unreferenced layers there are still serveral old layers in left. each of these layers seems to be holding on to one entity preventing them from being purged.tThe strange thingis that these entities won't provide DXF group information when requessted. does anyone know why this would happen?

I sometimes have this problem when trying to manually delete layers - a message appears notifying me that the layer cannot be deleted as there are still entities on present on the layer, when, clearly, there are not.

I realise this does not help you at all, but I thought it might be encouraging that you are not the only one with this problem. :P

It may be a block or attribute related issue. Say you define a block on layer A and you insert it on layer B. Layer A shows nothing on it but it can't be deleted.

Thanks Fuccaro,

I'll remember that next time I'm trying to delete a layer. :)
