2Tal Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 Visual style: Conceptual Spot on ReMark ! not countersunk, just recessed as above. I spent over an hour trying to achieve what you have above, just couldnt get it, pushing, pulling and a lot of swearing. might try again tonight... sorry ReMark, totally overlooked that Presspull command you posted earlier. 2Tal Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 oh and ReMark, many thanks for going to the trouble to post those examples very much appreciated and feeling a little - Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 You're entirely welcomed. BTW...there is no reason to feel as most of us, except JDM, were not born with an innate knowledge of 3D modeling. Quote
2Tal Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 thanks ReMark i'll post up my efforts later . . . Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Here is another one for you. Sooner or later you are going to ask how one makes a cylinder. Maybe you have a piping job to do. No problem. Draw the inner and outer diameter of the pipe then use the PressPull command to give it height. Like this.... Just remember to pick between the two circles (note the "x"). Simple. Quote
PotGuy Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why ReMark is a Quantum Mechanic! Quote
2Tal Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 thanks - again ! did a bit more tricking around on this piece . . . manages to get the recessed hole done but its not quite right Quote
ReMark Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 It almost looks like you subtracted for the larger hole then put a collar inside of it. Seems like two separate pieces. Quote

I would give the same comment for the rebate around the whole thing, would union work on objects created by push/pull. Quote
JD Mather Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Try Union command. or better yet. Attach your dwg file here and end all doubt. (3 pages and not a single dwg attachment by the OP? not a good sign of progress) Quote

JD Mather Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 You have several solid bodies and the generating profiles. Run the Union command to join the solids (follow the command line). I recommend you create a Solid layer and a Sketch layer and move your solid to the Solid layer and the generating profiles to the Sketch layer, then turn off the Sketch layer. Quote
