vpatterson Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I am black with more questions about blocks. I made a block and when I go insert block browse it works fine, but if I try to insert from the palette I created it says block references itself. Or I have to explode the block for it to work. What can I do to fix this problem? Please help. I have tried the purge command and its not working (if I am even using it correctly). thank you Quote

vpatterson Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Tool palette (I think) do I need to delete and recreate? Quote
rkent Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Your "block" is a .dwg file and inside this .dwg file is a block with the same name as the .dwg file. So open the .dwg file and explode and save and close the file. Now try again. So in other words, your file may be called MOTOR.DWG and inside that file is a block called MOTOR. Open MOTOR.DWG and explode the block. This all assumes you aren't making dynamic blocks. Quote
Tuns Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Ok, I thought maybe you meant a tool bar. Have you tried making a macro command to insert the block and then putting the macro into the tool palette? You could make the macro something like ^C-insert;"Block Name"; and then just click that button and it will insert the block. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Insert the block using the Design Center (Ctrl+2) or follow rkent's method. How was this block placed on the palette? Quote
vpatterson Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 I got it thanks rkent's & SLW210. I had a block inside of a block. Thank you for all of your help. Quote
