igreere Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Hello. I am currently using AutoCAD architecture 2012, student version. I would like to try a bit of modelling, but this version has no 3d modelling workspace and I can by no means find the appropriate toolbars. Does anybody have a clue? Thank you. Quote
ReMark Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 No 3D modeling workspace? Is there a Gear icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen? Quote
ReMark Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Any chance you are already in a 3D workspace and just don't realize it? Did you click on "Workspace settings" to see what was available? Quote
igreere Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 I did. There is only architecture. Or am I missing on sth? Quote
ReMark Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 OK. Looks like you have a lot of choices......as long as it is Architecture. Then I would suspect you are already in a 3D workspace and haven't realized it yet. Quote
igreere Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 OK. But were have all the 3d-related toolbars that I saw in autocad 2011 vanish? Quote
JD Mather Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 If you want the vanilla AutoCAD 3D modeling tools you must start AutoCAD Architecture as AutoCAD. Go to Start>Autodesk>AutoCAD Architecture>Run as AutoCAD. The problem is that you are not running AutoCAD. You are running AutoCAD Architecture that runs on top of AutoCAD. You need to be running the vanilla AutoCAD profile. Quote
igreere Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 Thank you for the answer. But could you maybe give me another path or way? I have windows 8, so no Start. I tried Local disk C > Program Files > Autodesk, but could not find it... Quote
rkent Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 From the Start screen in W8 simply type auto, all autocad apps will show, pick autocad rather than architecture. Quote
igreere Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 There is no AutoCAD but AArchitecture Quote
hertz hound Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 While you are in AutoCAD architecture, right click the very top of the ribbon. go to show tabs. you should see all the ribbon panels with check marks next to the ones that are turned on. By default solid, surface, and parametric are not checked. check the one you want. I think this is what you are looking for? Quote
igreere Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 Yes, that is what I was looking for. Thank you. Quote
