-TJ Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 See attachment - The horizontal lines should not be there on the 2 large pulleys at the corners of the image - these show up when I plot AND in the layout tab, modelspace, if I type "hide". In the Model tab, the lines do not appear with the Hide command. Previously, as in a few weeks ago, when working with this drawing the extra lines were not there. The parts in the drawing have not been modified since then but other aspects have - text formatting, etc.. Any idea what causes this? Quote
ReMark Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 What are parts N and H supposed to represent? Personally, I think the lines have to be there. Quote
-TJ Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 N is a spacer, H is a bearing, M is a belt flange The lines definitely should not be there. Quote
ReMark Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I beg to disagree. I consulted my Technical Graphics Communication book and it shows several spacers with the lines just as you have them above. If the lines weren't there how would you indicate the depth of the spacer? Quote
skipsophrenic Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I'm with ReMark on this, i have had to draw a few in my short time as a cad monkey, and all of the spacers i've drawn have needed that line - even if it's to dimension the depth of it Quote
-TJ Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Maybe we're not talking about the same thing. I'm concerned about the lines the red arrows are pointing to. Quote
ReMark Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 -TJ: You're right. The lines on the faces of the pulleys do not belong there. Could they be construction lines (2D)? Quote
-TJ Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 No, I just rechecked (& ran Purge again). They only show up in the plot preview (& the plot - printer or .PDF). They show up differently if I HIDE in Modelspace (layout tab). If I HIDE in Model tab, they are not there. If I slightly change the perspective (3d Free Orbit) the # & location of those lines change. Is there some sort of audit I can run on those 2 parts? Quote
ReMark Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Could it be that the holes are not truely perpendicular to the face of the pulleys? Quote
spittle Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Try looking at the options in your Visual Styles Manager. Quote
