i usually use this command between 2 drawingss i just drag & drop the dwg i need but today i cant seem to do it. any idea how to turn this on? TiA:D

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but is your DRAGMODE turned on?

its in automode but i did turned it on n off nothing did happen.

 

check the layers and everything.....thanks anyways

Select what you want to drag.

Click and hold on a line. (don't click on an endpoint - click on line or edge of solid part and hold - you should get a little rectangular "clipboard" glyph)

Drag to other drawing.

 

If it still doesn't work - attach a small sample file (just need one line) that doesn't work for you.

im guessing it something to do with my settings....i tried opening the file to another station and everything seems to be ok.....aaaaarrrrgh

Different file formats can affect the ability to copy/paste between drawings.

i open the same file in ver 2006...everything is OK....

ok my autocad is really messed up....while clicking each entity....i noticed that the current layer of the each entity i click is not showing on the layer control box.....sigh!!!

Cancelling/Escaping out of Lisps with inadequate error checking is a common cause.
