PEGAdevelopment Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I am trying to build a parts list for a Storm Sewer Network. The "Inlets-Outlets" part family leaves much to be desired. Are you guys using PARTBUILDER to build a curb inlet from scratch? This seems pretty complicated. Or are you using the "Junction Structure NF" for a curb inlet? Also, what about grate inlets? What are you using for those? Quote
CyberAngel Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Indeed, creating structures seems to be more trouble than it's worth. I spent a couple of days trying to make one and gave up. For rectangular structures, including catch basins and drop inlets, I use a Regular Structure Slab Top Rectangular Frame. Why? It shows up rectangular on the plan. For junction boxes I use the Cylindrical Junction Structure NF. Why? It shows up circular on the plan. I get why the complicated things are complicated, Autodesk. But the simple things are just as complicated. That's stupid. Quote
Bill_Myron Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 At my work we didnt even bother attempting to build exact parts. Every structure (Catch Basin, Manhole, etc.) we use a Junction Structure. We then control the display with blocks in our styles. For the Labelling we have numerous custom properties that we use (Frame, Grate, Manhole Size). Adjust those to your liking and you have everything you need. It will be many years before Autodesk can actually tie in design into the display model. Till then just keep it simple. Quote
Organic Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I never bothered either, it isn't worth it. Quote
PaulS00 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 For Type 'D' inlets, we use a block in the site reference plan. When I set up the pipe networks, I use the 15"x15" rectangular structure, but with a "non-plot" structure style. That way I can still use a structure label. We don't need any more precision than that. Quote
