Hey guys,

I have an assembly print that I have broken down into three sheets to show different portions of it in more detail for assembly purposes. I also show the overall assembly on each sheet in a smaller scale in the corner of the sheet. My question is, is there any way for my smaller scaled down over all assembly to highlight the area that the sheet is showing? I have broken down my station into three pieces that would then assemble into the station, and I'd like to have the smaller over all image be grayed out except for what that sheet is showing (to better show my tech where that piece is in the assembly).

Here is a snap shot of one of the sheets I'm talking about. I'd like the view under the red arrow to be slightly grayed out, except for the assembly that is on that particular sheet.

Hopefully I have described what I'm looking for in enough detail.

TIA for any help

Note: I haven't tried this - so not sure it will work (pretty sure, but not positive).

I assume you are using logical sub-assemblies.

Create Design View Reps in the main assembly with the "grayed out" portion set to some clear color, like maybe polycarbonate.

I will try this out and let you know, but another quick question.

In a presentation file (.ipn), once I place my view and start tweaking components, and I go change the color of a component in the main .iam, is there any way to get that to update in the .ipn? Basically, I'm ballooning my print out, and I don't like the color of a particular component because you can loose the leaders in the black while trying to follow the leader to the part.

Only by making sure that you check the 'associative' option when you create the exploded view.

I don't think that this can be applied retrospectively...
