mugshot Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Need help please... May i ask why is it that in cad when i render.. it takes centuries.... - settings for my renderings are: Fg n gi is on st to 500 and 1. -sky n background illumination Rendering references to high w/ 1024×768... My other problem is that using a higher output makes my rendering more sharp to zoom but i expected it positively but the outcome is the same as the lower image output yet everything is so long to render... Im only using pure cad.. no after programs. Any recomendation/suggestion will do... thank you. Quote

Cad64 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 My other problem is that using a higher output makes my rendering more sharp to zoom but i expected it positively but the outcome is the same as the lower image output yet everything is so long to render... If the rendering time for the low resolution output is the same as the time for the high resolution output, there is something wrong with your settings. If you can post some screenshots of your high res and low res settings, maybe someone can figure out what's wrong. Quote
mugshot Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Im using the hp touch smart 610 3-in-1 pc??? Quote

Please find attached images for a sample work... the two rendering has the same setting buy different view and output size..yet its only an hour more difference. Thank you. Quote
f700es Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 OK we now know the brand of PC what about the specs? If you are rendering in AutoCAD then it relies only on the cpu for rendering. Perhaps it's time to look at another rendering solution? It shows you use Acad 2008, that has an earlier version of Mental Ray that handles it's rendering. So you should be able to tweak it a bit to speed it up. Quote

f700es Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Well you'd think a HT quad core cpu would be a bit faster. Sure that is a 1st gen i7 but it is still an i7. Perhaps there are some settings to enable the usage of all your cores. I mean you technically have 8 threads to use. Did you get AutoDesk Showcase with your AutoCAD 2014? Quote
PotGuy Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Is a standard i5 @3570k 3rd Gen better than the i7 first gen? Quote
f700es Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Depends.... http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/458/Intel_Core_i5_i5-3570K_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-870.html Quote
