zmarcoz Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I read Wikipedia. It mentions machinability of different material. Assume I have a part that need to put into a CNC machine, base on the table of "Cutting speeds for various materials using a plain high speed steel cutter" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speeds_and_feeds . I should be able to calculate the ideal time of cutting my part using CNC machine. Does inventor have this feature? Quote
JD Mather Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 So - you want to do CAD/CAM. Inventor is the CAD side of that (Computer Aided Design). You need the CAM side to find the information you are after (Computer Aided Manufacture). Try this software https://beta.autodesk.com/callout/?callid=22396638F5374AC28E2F1A24CC7EEFA8 it works with Inventor. I am not sure how full-featured this free version is. If it doesn't give machining time then check out a program like MasterCAM. Quote
