nina d Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Using Architecture 2013. Yesterday, I opened an old Architecture 2010 file, which is a file that I made to use as a template to quickly grab: · walls · doors · blocks · text · dimensions · standard layers in a line pallette, etc Yesterday, I could see everything just fine. Today, I open the same file and I see only RCP layers, which I did NOT see yesterday. The plan is showing: · ceiling grid · lights · some walls only · no text · no dimensions · no standard layers I checked layer properties manager and all the layers are in use and are present I simply cannot view them, Therefore I cannot use them. I work in a crappy government office, where no-one knows jack ****, can someone please help me (out in the real world), so I can do my job? I’d really appreciate your help. Signed, a government contractor. Quote
nestly Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I have ACA, but haven't really learned it yet, but here are my guesses starting from the most broad to the narrowest A Profile that's using a different workspace A Workspace that's using a different Display Configuration A Display configuration that filters out those objects Quote
nina d Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 great, so how do I check these 3 things? Quote
nestly Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 First try PLAN > World (or click "top" on the Viewcube) At the bottom right in the drawing Status area, there should be a Display Configuration combo box with "Medium Detail, Reflected, Standard, etc I think (Medium Detail is the default) Quote
nina d Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 yes. I did both. I am on top view. (yesterday and today) I have been on medium detail (yesterday and today). Quote
Dadgad Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Welcome to CADTutor. Have you tried another perspective or visual style? Have you tried your Autosave folder? Perhaps you can recover a fully functional earlier version there? Are you describing what you see in Modelspace? Or in a viewport in Paperspace? Have you tried to RECOVER the drawing, or AUDITed it? Quote
nina d Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 I do not know what you mean by another perspective or visual style. The file has been written over in Autosave Yes, I am describing what I see in modelspace. Quote
nina d Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Nestly, display configurations only shows "medium Detail" and "Standard". Quote
nestly Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Nestly, display configurations only shows "medium Detail" and "Standard". Interesting. How about Workspaces? (Even lower on the Application Status bar... the Gear icon) Is "Architecture" avalable? If so, are there more Display Representations available in that workspace? Display representations are stored in the drawing. I only have ACA2013 and there are 8-9 as I recall. so either ACA2010 only had 2, or someone modified/deleted them, which could explain the problem. Did you have this drawing open in 2013 previously when you said everything was there, or were you using 2010? As you can tell, I'm kinda grasping here, you may want to repost this in the AutoCAD Architecture subforum. Quote
nina d Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Can someone with ARCHITECTURE please respond? Thanks. Quote
