now there is a problem that i cant figuer neither my friend

as an exaple iam suppose to make a line between 2 vertex in a Donut ( edditable spline ) ... and then after the 2 vertex hit .. it should ask me if i want to weld them (( even tho i made it with vertex snap so the 2 point are perfectly on same position

the problem is .. it doesnt ask me ... and whenever i select this area there is 2 vertex at same spot .. when i click weld ... nothing happen ...

here is some screenshots of all my options i picked (( i didnt chage anything all default ))

i also tryed autowelding .. it didnt work ;/

The problem is that you can't have three lines connected to one vertex.

Spittle is right. As far as I know, you can't have 3 lines connected to 1 vertex. And a line and a curve is the same as 3 lines.

Can you provide a link to the tutorial you're following?

I would recommend that you download some tutorials that cover poly modeling, not spline modeling.

Splines are certainly useful for some things, but typically you're going to be spending about 99% of your time poly modeling in Studio Max.

If you post an image of what you're trying to create it may be easier for someone to help you. But if the tutorial is telling you to join lines one and two together then you probably need to split lines one and three into two separate segments.

You're not following closely enough - he is welding his new line segments together but using the vertices on the circle to snap them to when drawing. When he welds his new lines to the outer circle he breaks it first. :)

That's why it's always a good idea to watch a video completely, all the way through to the end so you can see everything that is being done. Then start it over again and follow along. ;)
