Gents & Ladies

Could you please explain to me how I can extract the attached data onto an excel spreadsheet (exactly as displayed on the cad drawing) I'm not a CAD technician, more of a buyer for an engineering firm.

I'v tried extracting the info using DATAEXTRACTION but for some reason it exports it all mixed up and not as per the table on the attached drawing. anyone who could do a step by step process for me will get a christmas card :-)

Best Regards

Too bad it isn't a true table then you could have used the TABLEEXPORT command which would have exported the data in a CSV file format.

Thanks for the response.

Is it safe to assume that my request can't be achieved (easily)?

At the moment I'm not ready to throw in the towel and neither should you. Why don't we see if you get any other responses first. As with all things AutoCAD there may well be another way to accomplish the task. In the future you might want to consider using the TABLE command if you want to start in AutoCAD or creating an Excel spreadsheet then bringing it into AutoCAD via the TABLE > DATALINK option.

You might try converting the text to attributes..See THIS

Or better yet, see THIS FROM AUTODESK groups on converting Text tables to AutoCAD Tables. See the Code by Hallex (a.k.a. Fixo on CADTutor) at the bottom.
