landspace Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 When I open Cad...it boots up normally then in 5 seconds...crashes or closes down... here is a print screen of the "AutoCad Error Report" attached to the post. Any type of advice would be really appreciated, Thanks in advance -Todd- Quote
RobDraw Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Have you used a registry cleaner recently? Some of them don't get along with AutoCAD. Quote
landspace Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Rob, I have not used one before. How and where do I find a registry cleaner? Todd Quote
Organic Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I'd try a repair installation. If that isn't possible, then uninstall and reinstall it. Quote
RobDraw Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Rob, I have not used one before. How and where do I find a registry cleaner? Todd I do not recommend using registry cleaners unless you back up your registry and are totally aware of the implications of using one. Let me emphasize that some of them cause problems, or even break AutoCAD. Quote
ReMark Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 What OS are you running? Did you temporarily disable your antivirus program when you installed the program? Did you create a Restore point in Windows before you installed the program? Quote
landspace Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 I will try to reinstall autocad on my computer. I did not set a retore point, so I can't do a system restore. I hope this works. Thanks, Todd Quote
ReMark Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 There is a recommended procedure for uninstalling AutoDesk software in preparation for a clean install posted at the AutoDesk website. Find and follow it otherwise you may end up with the same problem. Quote
