ali888 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hi, I have this problem with autocad LT 2007 running on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. The problem might be to do with permission or some sorts. I (as administrator) can launch the autocad under my account. However, some users with power-user permissions are having trouble getting it started. Nothing happens after double-clicking on the icon on the desktop. Then, what puzzles me even more is that another user (called autocad-user) logs in and is able to launch the app with no drama. Now, I also realized that when the autocad LT 2007 got installed in the first place, it's done by this user (autocad-user). This explains why this particular user can run the app besides administrators. But I just wonder why not all other authorized users can run it. It's the same machine but just shared by different users. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Quote
Dadgad Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 What happens if you right click on the icon and check RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR? Quote
ali888 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 What happens if you right click on the icon and check RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR? Thanks for your reply. No, I tried it already and it still didn't work. I had to switch users either to myself or autocaduser, then tried it again and it worked. Really bizarre. Thank you very much Quote
SLW210 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Have you tried opening through the Programs menu? Quote

ReMark Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Perhaps send that error to Autodesk? That would be pointless as AutoDesk does not support running AutoCAD 2007 under Win7. Quote
PotGuy Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I wasn't aware of that. Or, at least forgot when thinking about the best way of going about this. I guess a fresh install has been tried, or something you want to avoid if possible? Quote
