How do I change the plane of a block reference in 3D?

For example: I made trusses and blocked them, they appear on the roof in isometric view; however I'm trying to do a vertical section view and the trusses do not appear. When looking at the floor plan, the trusses appear in bottom view instead of top view. When I ran into this problem with a roof wall, I simply changed to override cut plane in the object display properties. I don't see this option for my blocked trusses. Any ideas?

Can you attach a drawing, it makes it much easier to understand.

This sounds like an Architecture specific question.

Are these actual AutoCAD blocks or objects created by Architecture?

Thanks, but I ended up redoing my work and I don't have the problem any more.
