craigproudfoot Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I have a drawing with multiple unconnected polylines. I use the LEN command to get the length of an individual polyline, but how do I get the combined length of all the polylines? There are too many to simply PEDIT and then join them. Any help would be appreciated as I have come up with nothing on the web. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Too bad you're using LT. From forum member Raggi_Thor comes this suggestion. You can make a macro in plain LT like this: PE;Y;J;ALL;;;LI;LAST;; or PEDIT;Yes;Join;ALL;;;LIST;LAST;; Quote

ReMark Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Here is another option as posted at CADing & Coding: Total Length Calculation for AutoCAD LT. http://cadingandcoding.blogspot.com/2007/09/total-length-calculation-macro-for.html Quote
craigproudfoot Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 How do I run a macro in plain LT and what will this macro do? Thanks in advance to you both for taking time over this. ReMark - 33,262 posts - Astonishing! Quote
ReMark Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) One last option but it is going to cost you. CAD Studio has a program called LT Extension. One of the features is this... Report length - reports lengths of all selected Lines and straight Polylines (no arcs or fit plines), grouped by layers (result can be copied over Clipboard to Excel, Word or back into AutoCAD). To learn more about this program click on this link... http://www.cadstudio.cz/en/apps/ltextension/ I'd create a button and assign the macro to it so it is always available. what does it do? That should be pretty self evident [PEDIT;Yes;Join;ALL;;;LIST;LAST;;] don't you think? 33,262 is not my post count. It is however my age in days. Edited June 5, 2013 by ReMark Quote
craigproudfoot Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 The Polylines are not always adjacent, so that won't work - I am looking at the Cading and Coding solution. 33,262 Days Old - Astonishing! Quote
craigproudfoot Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 How do I run a VLX file in AutoCAD LT 2014? Quote
ReMark Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 How do I run a VLX file in AutoCAD LT 2014? You can't. VLX is a compiled lisp/visual lisp file. LT doesn't do lisp. We've covered this already remember? Quote
