omontes2 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hello Everyone, I have been using CADTutor to help my drafting for a few years now and it has been a great help, everyone is so generous here. This time I thought it might be time to create my own post. I want to see if anyone has ever created a routine for dimensioning utility offsets based on a roadway centerline? I want to see if it is possible to select the centerline, then the lines to be dimensioned and the dimensions will be created beginning with the furthest offset. Then once the dimensions are placed allow for the label of what each line to be required from the user, again beginning with the furthers. The picture I attached is the format I currently follow, but I draw each individual dimension, then I enter the text of what the line is, then I align each one to make it look nicer. It takes a while. Sorry if the message is too long, hope someone can help. Quote
BIGAL Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 It can be done pretty easy you drag a line across all lines using perp and make a selection list then work out intersection points then just using normal dim commands you dimension them. A couple of steps in between is to sort offset distance so always descend. Ok sorry code I have is copyrited so can not post. Autodim house floor plans ! Quote
omontes2 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 I'll give it a try, thanks for responding, maybe this could be a starting point for me to learn how to code. Quote
