Append to text LISP required

does anybody have a lisp that can be used to append to a text object? I've had a quick check and can't find anything quickly. I have a routine adaptable from VBA already but I'm trying to get away from VBA at the moment and thought somebody might have something already.

I need to append a few specified characters to an existing set of text objects. The objects should be selected as a group or individually.

before after

1-TB01-01 1-TB01-01/A

1-TB01-02 1-TB01-02/A

1-TB01-03 1-TB01-03/A

Where /A is the appended text but should be operator selectable.

TIA.

Thanks guys,

I had just finished my own code and was about to post it here when I saw your replies. Mine is off to the bin while I look at yours...

sorry, I meant filing cabinet. That little round one on the floor. I have never tried recovering a document from it but it sure holds a lot.

Yes, of course... Back in the Service, we affectionately referred to that as:

I really intend to close my request out but once they're no longer on the "New Posts" button I forget them so quickly.

Lee, I WILL look at your reply but Mark's link kept my boss happy instantly.
