DoctorDrake Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Recently, I switched companies. I am supposed to insert their sheet template into model space at 3/4" = 1' which I have done. There are parts that need to be detailed. On the detailed part the dimensions all come up fine (after altering the scale/dimstyle) but when I try adding dimensions to the original drawing, instead of getting the 3'-0" measurement I should get, somehow I get the measurement for 48'-0". Maybe I did something wrong? Someone with some knowledge of scaling in model space please help me. I was either not taught this or was apparently not paying attention when they did teach it (despite the 4.0gpa.) Thank you much. Quote
ReMark Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 They don't use an alternate dimension style with a predetermined scale factor? Did you check? Sounds like the company did not keep up with the improvements to AutoCAD re: paper space layouts and the use of viewports. They are still using old school methods which works fine until you have to start scaling things. Then the real fun begins. Quote
DoctorDrake Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 This is my point exactly. Where I was at before, I'd draw everything 1" = 1' and create view-ports in paper space (along with adding the company block and BOM.) Not sure what to do. He gave me a sheet with the scale, plot, drawing sizes, text sizes and scale factors. I've done everything right from what I can tell but still getting weird numbers. It has to be something I've done wrong somewhere. NOT TO MENTION THEY JUST UPGRADED TO 2014 Quote
ReMark Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Try changing your Measurement scale > Scale Factor to 16. Now dimension the line. Does it read 48'? Quote
