Keywordkid Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) Hi folks me again still plugging away with my hamburger model and learning more about Revit. My problem today is how can I turn off the visibilty of a nested family part in just one view? I have worked out how to use the visibility filters and successfully set up a number of 3D views with different elements turned off from my single family project. The only element I'm having trouble with is my nested element (burger with cheese slice ), I want to have a view with the cheese element off but I don't know how to get the cheese part to identify seperately, it is not listing as a seperate family in the tree, I sure I need to add a link somehow but it is eluding me! Hopefully the screen grabs identify the problem as there is no individual 'Cheese' family Edited May 21, 2013 by Keywordkid forgot to add final comment Quote
Keywordkid Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Maybe the hamburger is putting everyone off? - there is a serious reason for this project to discuss Facility Managament in the BIM world. Any how I managed to work it out, it was activating the 'Shared' parameter in the base element and then most importantly remembering to update it in each nested occurance, finally not to get too clever with the visibilty filter feature, thinking I had to identify the top level nested family with a 'and' addition for the base element when infact because it was now shared I only needed to identify the original family with no and's. Hope this helps someone in the future. Quote
