neophoible Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I would go for COPY with a relative displacement of 1/16,1/16. I would probably do the same given the image posted by the OP; but the following works also, if you would rather the endpoints line up. Why not erase the 2nd L and offset the one left 0.0625 For Offset, I would probably want to first PEdit as JD Mather indicates, but again, the endpoints will line up. The confusion regarding existing vs new lines probably has to do with AutoCAD lingo, that is, what Offset means in AutoCAD vs what it may mean to someone in other contexts. Offset creates a new object based on the existing (and a distance or point from the latter); it does not Move an existing one to a certain distance from another existing object. If you already have two objects, or sets of objects, you can first establish the point to move to, then select the objects to be moved and Move them to that point. Quote
welldriller Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 neophoible Thank you and I understand what you are saying. Got to quit doing it the hard way. Just got use to doing things my way and what worked for me, that it is hard not to tell how I do it. Quote

Just got use to doing things my way and what worked for me, that it is hard not to tell how I do it. You're welcome to whatever helps. And to be sure, I do things the hard way often enough. As for your earlier query about offsetting blocks, you are right that it does not work. Quote
