dsibbo Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Hello, Can anyone help me remove the attributes from this block. I just want to be left with the block with all its rotate and stretch features but with no option to add in text when I double click it. AC Unit_.dwg Thanks Quote
dbroada Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 open the block with BEDIT and delete the ATTDEF(s). Close the block editior (saving as you go) type ATTSYNC and select the block you have jsut edited and follow the instructions. Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I have actually seen something jsut liek this happen before, the attributes are deleted and the ATTSYNC and BATTMAN commands won't work because there aren't any attributes to modify, not sure how it happens (some sort of glitch maybe). Either way, use the ATTDEF command in the block to make a new temporary attribute, leave the block editor, use the ATTSYNC command on the block, return to the block editor, delete the temporary attribute and repeat the ATTSYNC command. Attributes are gone. Again I am not to sure why it happens, or what the root cause is, but the work around above should work. Quote
dsibbo Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 When I click this block it says it has no attributes even after all this has been done. But then I can still double click it which brings up the window for me to type into. Have you had a look at it, I can't seem to get rid of them. Quote
dsibbo Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Mike, What you say has worked. I didn't see your post before I replied. SLW210 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Do you have a copy of the block from before you tried to delete all the attributes? If so, post that one. You have a block inside a block, also. Some attribute values show up when entered. I think this is a block reference problem, the old reference still has the attributes. You might try the BURST express tool to convert the attributes to text and rebuild the blocks. Quote
niekdegrijze Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Thank you for the solution, I was getting quite frustrated with the last remaining attribute always popping up when selecting the block Quote
