dsheli Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hey guys, Fairly new to inventor but think I am picking it up well, especially for the little time I have had with the program. So attached are three images of what I have been working on. Basically I have HSS4x4x1/2 sections welded to the web of a C8x11.5. I had no problem coping the HSS4x4x1/2’s so they meet flush with the channel. My question is what is the best way to cope the angle going diagonally? For the HSS I used a plane with the dimensions projected from the end of the channel, then extruded across the HSS member. I hope the included screen shots can help everyone understand what I am looking at a little better. Thanks, dsheli Quote
Dadgad Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Is there an INTERFERE command in INVENTOR perhaps? That would be an easy and relatively painless way to do it in Autocad. Quote
ReMark Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Finally, one useful feature in Inventor I'd love to have in plain AutoCAD. There may be hope for Inventor after all. Quote
dsheli Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 No I am not using Frame generator. Just checked it out and it makes things a whole lot easier! Thanks for the tip! Quote
