bgbylund Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Hi, does anyone know whats wrong...when I click the annotative scale icon at the bottom of screen it shows me the standard options to chose from: (1/16"= 1'-0", 1/8"= 1'-0", 1/4"+ 1'-0" etc. etc..) but it is permanently stuck in 1/4"=1-0"...in other words if I select say 1"=1'-0"...and go to draw a dimension...the dimension is in 1/4"= 1'-0"....model space thanks Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 What is you ANNOAUTOSCALE system variable set to? Quote
bgbylund Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 thank you, however, this does not work Quote
ReMark Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Is everything back in model space drawn at full size? Quote
bgbylund Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 yeah, i've recently updated to autoCAD 2010 from 2007....all of my drawings were created in 2007....all modelspace drawings are 1 to 1 scale....I may be missing something in my initial program setup....drafting standards? any suggestions? ReMark Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Can you post a copy of the DWG file? Someone here can take a look at it and maybe figure out what the problem is. Quote
bgbylund Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 REEDsite.dwg Hi, just to recap...in drawing space when I want to pull a standard dimension...but say, want the dimension to vary in scale (i.e. 1/6"=1'-0", 1/8"=1'-0" etc.) I go to annotation scale at the bottom right of screen, select my desired scale..draw the dimension...but the dimension always draws in 1/4"=1'-0"(automatically)...regardless of the scale I have selected...recently upgraded from 2007 to 2010...all drawings created in 2007...thanks a bunch! ReMark Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 OK...where did you hide the annotative dimensions? I can't seem to find any. Ace-Arch-I-96 Why three copies? I'd like to make a suggestion and that is, when you have a moment, you use the command line version of the PURGE command and do a little housekeeping on your drawing. Just a suggestion. Quote
ReMark Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 If the dimension style you were using was "annotative" it would be indicated on this tab in your Dimension Style dialog box. It is my belief your dimensions are not annotative at this time. That would explain why you are having a problem. Note: None of your text is annotative either. By the way, who did the drawing? It seems that everything consists of separate line segments, even objects one would normally assume would be blocks like toilets and sinks. Quote
ReMark Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 A link to a very good paper about Annotative Scaling by David Cohn. This paper was presented at AutoDesk University in 2008. http://www.dscohn.com/AU/handouts/GD315-1P%20Annotation%20Scaling-DOC.pdf Quote
bgbylund Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 thank you very much. You got me to start messing around in my Dimension Style editor and I noticed that the copied dimension styles were not set to annotated..My bad...I'm getting there!! thanks for your help!! Quote
