johnseg11 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 In Autocad 2013, when I highlight a drawing in model space and copy, then go to new drawing and paste to original coordinates, everything comes in fine except for blocks. the blocks get thrown far away from everything else. can anyone help Quote
BIGAL Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Somebody asked same question a few days ago the solution was tied to the insert point of the blocks being way out there. Those who repsonded previously will probably do so again. Quote
RobDraw Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Is it all blocks or multiple instances of one block? Is there already a definition of the block(s) in the file you are pasting into? Quote
johnseg11 Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 anything that is a block gets pasted in wrong location in 2013 using paste to original coords., in autocad 2004, the blocks come in to the correct location. Quote

RobDraw Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 anything that is a block gets pasted in wrong location in 2013 using paste to original coords., in autocad 2004, the blocks come in to the correct location. This sounds like something is different with UCS. Set to world in both files and try again. Quote
johnseg11 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Ucs is set to world in drawing, all entities paste in correct location except for blocks which are thrown far out in space, if i explode block, it will paste in to correct location Quote
RobDraw Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 It sounds like there is a definition of the block already in the drawing that has a different base point. Rename the block and see if that helps. If that does not help, post both files. Quote
johnseg11 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Block was not defined in drawing i pasted into, i am uploading drawing i copied from. circles next to A flags, ex. A-1 are the blocks going into space. tried to upload file and got error that upload failed Quote
MihaiAnghius Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 I have had a similar issue no UCS problem, no block definition for me it seemed to be the template file (map2d.dwt , original template) for some reason on certain templates this happens . I tried a different template and it worked . Quote
SLW210 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Are some of the templates Metric and some Imperial? Can you post a few drawings that are doing this? Quote
MihaiAnghius Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Yes some are metric and some imperial, that may be the culprit, i've tried to change units, block units and system variables to no use. SAMPLE DWG.dwg PASTE LOCATION MAP2D TEMPLATE.dwg PASTE LOCATION ACADISO TEMPLATE.dwg Quote
KESHAR Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 The issue is with the units setting on the maps2d template being set to inches instead of meters. when the units are changed to meters then the dwg purged it works fine. this was tested using the point at 203.89 as the ID point. Quote
MihaiAnghius Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Thanks, i did not think about purgeing the dwg Quote
