kililio Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Hi I want to print my finished floor layout but this layout view tab (layout 1) show me a tiny drawing I want it to cover all the A4 format how to do it please ? thanks Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 You need to assign a scale to your viewport. There are four or five ways to do it. You might try clicking on the viewport itself then opening up your Properties palette and assigning the scale there. Quote
kililio Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 thank you but how to do that? which scale? Quote
rkmcswain Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 thank you but how to do that? which scale? Double click inside the viewport. This should take you into model space, but constrained to the viewport itself. Now you can zoom in on your model. Without knowing what units and paper size you are using, and the size of your model -- it's impossible to suggest a scale factor that will look right. But the main thing before you start experimenting with scale factors is to get your model centered in the viewport. ReMark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Open your Properties Palette. Click on your viewport frame. Look on your Properties palette, under the heading Misc, find where it says Standard Scale. Use the arrow at the end of the box (unseen until your mouse pointer is over it) to display the scalelist. Choose a scale. After having done so adjust your viewport if need be then lock the display. Quote
kililio Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 I double clicked the viewport and then I accidentally scroll the wheel of my mouse, after that I tried to find my drawing and using just the wheel I zoomed in , navigated with the center click on the wheel and try to put it into the frame Am i Good to go ? I'll try your method Remark see what i got and feedback Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would say the answer to that is "no". Why? Because my guess is your drawing is currently not to any recognizable/standard architectural scale. Basically you have scaled it to fit. This might be OK for you as long as you realize you cannot scale any measurements off of it. Your choice. Quote

Choose a scale. After having done so adjust your viewport if need be then lock the display. The risk with only doing those steps is that the contents of the viewport are scaled using the center of the viewport as the zoom point. So if the model is not centered, it is possible and even likely that after a scale is selected, the model will not be visible - confusing new users. Am i Good to go ? I'll try your method Remark see what i got and feedback Many times I will use the old school method of Zoom>Center pick a point near the center of the model enter the scale factor, like 1/40XP In any case, it is good to know the size of your model, the size of the paper, and what scale will allow the model to fit the paper... Unless scale is unimportant and you just want to fit to paper... Quote
ReMark Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 One could always use the Pan command to find his/her model space geometry. Quote
