SwChilly Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 *sigh* I feel like I'm on here daily. I have a problem with solid pipe hatching. Right now my pipe hatch is over top of the inner walls and therefore you can't see the inner walls. I want to be able to show them. I've looked it up and on the autodesk website there's many users who have the same issue but no resolution. But these were over a year ago. Is there either a way to draworder the wall lines on top of the hatch in the pipe style or another way around it? Quote
SwChilly Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) The only thing I can think of, without exploding anything, it to change the lineweight of the inner walls to a really thick line so that part of it shows passed the hatch.. but then the ends look funny. Or use wipeout but thats annoying as well. Or I could just draw lines over top. Which is what I might do Edited January 14, 2013 by SwChilly Quote
CyberAngel Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 What if you changed the solid hatch to a crosshatch (such as ANSI37) with a very small scale? If you used a low screening value for the hatch, you should still be able to see the pipe walls. Quote

CyberAngel Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Wouldn't that make my file really big and slow it down? No, it won't make the file any larger. Yes, it will slow things down. Sometimes software forces you to make tradeoffs. Here's a clunkier solution. Create two profiles of the same line and put them in the same location. Enable only the hatching on one and disable it on the other. Use draw order to put the hatch profile below the main one. I'm not sure if that will work, but it's worth a shot. Quote
Bill_Myron Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 If your style has the pipe ends display on, you can use the hatch command and select the outer wall of the pipe to draw a hatch that will draw behind the pipe. It wont be associative if you move the pipe, but at least you can see your pipe lines. Also not too much work to re associate it to the moved pipe. If you dont want the pipe ends to plot, just put them on a no plot layer. Quote
rkent Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 HATCHTOBACK command doesn't work for you? Quote
