Ivans Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hi guys first time to post. I am trying to do a drawing but there's a function I forget and would like some help. I want to start a line from a section of another line. I kinda have some idea I followed the text book before there's a command which can help you to do something to skip a distance from a start point of a line to the position you want. Does anybody know the command. Will be appreciated! Quote
JD Mather Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I'm thinking using Object Tracking (with Polar Tracking on) and Direct Distance Entry, but I could be wrong. Attach your file here. Quote
Ivans Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 As you can see if I just create a line using polyline command I will get a double line work in my drawings which I want to avoid. I am sure there's a command that can make you start from the coorindation you want in relation to the start point of another line. Gotta practise autocad everyday from now on ! Quote
neophoible Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Thanks, eldon. I just learned smth. I had not realized that ‘FROm’ is an OSNAP option, even though it’s available in my right-click menu (actually Shift-rt click for me). The way I would most likely use it would be to select the basepoint then enter smth like @24 Quote
Ivans Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Brillant! That's the answer i seeked for! YOu are the best! Quote
