FIFTHTEXAS Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I have a drawing that is shwing model space empty, nothing in it, however on paper space the drawing is there i can double click my viewport and able to use my drawing commands as normal. what has happened how come i cant see my drawing in model space, like it is hidden, i have tried regen, redraw etc. can anyone help Quote
Dadgad Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 It sounds like it was drawn in Paperspace. Can you post the.dwg? Have you turned LIMITS off, and zoomed extents? Are there xrefs in this drawing? You could try turning on your QUICK PROPERTIES (does 2008 have them?), or just use PROPERTIES if it doesn't, use CTRL+A to select all (in modelspace) and see if it finds anything there. Quote
eldon Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 It might be that when you were drawing in model space, a line was moved/copied a long way (coordinate-wise) from the main drawing. When you zoom extents, all linework is so small that you cannot see it. Quote
FIFTHTEXAS Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Yes drawing is in model space as i can see it and work on it in my viewports, i think as you say a line has been copied by mistake so i cant zoom extents, the drawing is zoomed out too far ia there any way i can get it back to zoom normally Quote
eldon Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 What I do in a case like this is to Zoom extents, and then zoom .8x. This way there is a bit of space around the entities. Then I window the whole screen space, and the grips should show up and you can see where things are. usually there are two groups of grips on opposite sides of the screen. Window these areas one at a time, and in the properties window, it will tell you how many objects you have selected. Erase the area with only one entity. Quote

If your drawing includes Xrefs, you may find one of those troublesome remote entities to be the name of a missing xref. Eldon is right on the money, most likely nothing weirder than a bit of virtual flotsam which has been cast to infinity or beyond. Quote
pendean Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Go into your viewport, start XLINE command and draw it left to right.Do it again, but run it up and down direction. Now go to modelspace, zoom extents, then find that intersection: that is where your drawing is located. You've got junk that needs to be deleted at the opposite end in modelspace. Quote
