mike: The image by yasir doesn't show a 90 deg elbow as we might define it therefore I believe your suggestion would not provide the desired result.

This is what I had in mind. I did not create a pipe because this is for demonstration purposed only.

yasir and mike,

how is this effort coming along?

Should only take a few minutes to solve if you post step-by-step files here for suggestions on each step.

I think they either gave up or changed careers.

Here you go. Notice I hollowed it out.

So...left to right.

Create profile. Pedit > Join the two arcs and two short straight lines.

Change UCS. Rotate into position. Add my reference object (straight line).

Use Revolve command with Object option (select vert line as object). Tell AutoCAD to only revolve profile 90 degrees. Done.

The last red object is the corner turned 45 deg so you can see inside a little better.

There's probably two other ways to get the same result. This is but one option.

If you can't do it after seeing this I would consider a change in careers. Maybe accountant? LoL Good luck!

Well yasir -

you have been shown easy techniques and complex techniques.

How is it coming along?

I notice that you still haven't posted a dwg file here.

If you want to walk through a trivially easy solution step-by-step, I can guide you along, but you will have to respond each step of the way.

If we both happen to be on-line at the same time we can finish this up in 5 minutes.

If you can draw a line and can draw a circle - this problem can be done in less than 5 minutes.

meet18: That is a great set of instructions if the OP actually wanted to bend a real piece of pipe. Unfortunately he doesn't. The OP is drawing a 3D representation of a pipe. Your instructions won't do him much good in this particular case.

Looks to me like the original assignment is a cast pipe or a weldment. I don't see how that design could be made with a bending process.

In any case, I think the assignment is probably past due and the OP is no longer interested in achieving solution.

My post ( #28 ) needs no further clarification. If you made your initial profile correctly then you should get the desired results. Try again.

Remember we're using the REVOLVE command not EXTRUDE or PRESSPULL.

If you want my help - you will have to follow my instructions exactly.

Step 1. Draw a horizontal line 20 units long. Attach the dwg file here. If you can't do this, let me know what problem you are experiencing drawing a line or attaching files here.

Not counting the time to attach the file - should be less than 10 seconds to draw line.

+10 We'll keep a running count of seconds to complete the design. This will be fun to see who can do it the fastest.

This thread started on Dec. 1st and it is now Dec. 8th. There have been at least three if not four methods demonstrated to achieve the desired results. Surely yasir you can see that this is taking way too long. What are you going to do when the assignments get more complex?
