fsolis94 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I am trying to draw a detailed representation of an extension spring. Right now I have two slanted parallel lines and I want to connect them using fillet, but I do not want the arc to make these lines longer, I want the arc to be above the line they intersect with, something like this \__\ How do I make the arc be above the line? The purpose is to not change the length of the object from end to end. Quote
Dadgad Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Welcome to CADTutor. Are you familiar with the HELIX command? Quote
supercell Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Try creating the angled spring coils flat first. Ie along the x and y axis. Get them length you want with the rounded ends and then rotate them to the required angle to represent the spirals of the spring. Once you have made one, use the copy command to create the rest of them. Hoe this helps Quote

Start the Fillet command, note in the command line the various options available, use the Trim option, set that to No Trim, proceed with fillet command. Quote
