KCorby Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) I have a swept solid that FLATSHOT will not hide the obscured lines for. In the FLATSHOT dialogue box, I have tried all options, with different results. Does anyone know a setting that I can change or alternate method that I can use to get 2D geometry from this solid that I can use in my 2D drawing? Thanks! twisted_pair.dwg Edited November 19, 2012 by KCorby Typo :) Quote
the downing effect Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) You can try using solview followed by soldraw and it will project lines on the outside of the 'box' in model space Edited November 20, 2012 by the downing effect Quote
ReMark Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Options for extracting 2D views of 3D solid models include: Flatshot SectionPlane SolProf SolView/SolDraw ViewBase I suggest you try each one out and make note of the pros and cons then decide which one works best for your given situation. ReMark Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Well that still leaves the OP with four different choices. Quote
tonymck121 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I only use flatshot for quick ISO' drawings, solprof is my best choice. Quote
ReMark Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 AutoCAD 2012. Have you given ViewBase a try? Quote
SLW210 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Well that still leaves the OP with four different choices. Yea, I just didn't want the OP searching for ViewBase. Quote
ReMark Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 ViewBase or BaseView. Wish AutoDesk was consistent. Quote
