stretching a polyline keeping the size of the segments unaltered

Could anyone tell me if there is a way to "flatten" a non curved polyline or series of lines to one straight segmented line, without altering the distances of each segment?

I don't think I understand, because my initial answer would be--Only if the individual segments are co-linear.

Unless when you said "one straight segmented line", you didn't really mean straight.

With "non curved", I just meant a segmented polyline without arcs.

On the image you can see what I mean.

The straight line in the middle is just a projection of the polyline above.

The line I want to create is the one on the bottom based on the actual length of each segment.

Is there a command for this ?
