Solid Edge Tubing Design/ Creationg Cope

Hey-

I am new to Solid Edge and I have been assigned a project of creating a ladder rack using 2" dia tubing. I have been able to create the profile and sweep all the surfaces correctly, however, when it comes to creating the cope (using the subract command?) I have had a difficult time getting the software to follow my direction. Any tips?
