Someone here at the office started up autocad and the only things that showed up were "File", "Window" and "help" in top menu bar are the only things that show up. Where did the rest of the tools and camands go, and how can I get them back.

Autocad 2009 for this.

See below.

In AC 2009 is there a "Clean Screen" button waaaay down in the lower right hand corner? Maybe it was punched by mistake.

I just checked 2007 and it has a "Clean Screen" button so you should see it too.

Nope. Did not do it.

Do you have a command line?

Yes, and currently it's useless - not able to accept commands.

Have you tried shutting down the computer completely, rebooting then starting up AutoCAD again?

Posted

Yes. Multiple times. Was working fine yesterday.

Yeah, that's what everyone says.

AC 2009 on a Win7 system. Is this a 64-bit system?

If yes, are you running in XP mode or using another piece of software like LongBow?

Did you try the REPAIR option yet?

I've been told not to get involved with it by my boss.

This is my first week at this job so I don't know all of the specs. If they don't get it resolved, I will get back into it and verify specs. and any add ons, etc.

Thanks for the input.

Doesn't sound like much of a plan. Either you want to solve the problem now so you can be productive or you do what? Go home?

Yeah. I know, but as I noted my boss didn't want me involved. First week on the job and all. It wasn't my computer station either. He would rather just be mad at the people who are supposed to keep the computers and programs in order, and then if they can't deal with it, fire them, and try to fix it himself.

Definitely a toxic situation already, and probably not a wise career choice on my part.

Just re-apply your Workspace to Current. Type CUI, under "Workspaces", right click the one you use most and click "Set Current".

I can't type anything. I get this error message, and the following screen:

From the 5th of October to the 10th and the issue has not been resolved?

Just to verify, we're talking about AutoCAD Architecture 2009?

lol,

Yes, and Yes.

The person has been logging in as someone else. Computer guy was fired, and another one has not bee hired. The guy here that has cad knowledge has been asked by boss not to bother as he is "useless".

That means there's a job opening? LoL

Well it sort of looks like ACA.cui is missing or the path to it has been messed up. What do you think?

Trust me, you want nothing to do with this place. I have not even been here for 8 full days yet, and I am actively looking for another job already. If I didn't have bills and family, and living expenses I would have bailed at the end of last week.

...It is THAT bad.

Hmm, you should still be able to type in commands. Ctrl+9 doesn't give you the Command Line window? It should still be there, and typing CUILOAD can load the CUI/CUIx file that you need.

Styk: You are assuming the CUI file is not missing.
