how would you create a miter for the shown mouldings? the profile of the moulding is shown on the left. The moulding is a cornice for an interior room, pictured from below (reflected ceiling plan).

This is a nice detail, there are no dust accumulating surfaces on it.

There are a bunch of different ways to do this.

I opted to use the SLICE command, and used a circle as my cutting OBJECT.

 

In retrospect, having seen ReMark's approach, I would caution against bothering

to do it this way, unless you are really keen on wasting time and energy! :beer:

It really just takes a minute to do it that way, but that is still about 30 seconds wasted,

which adds up at the end of the week.

Unless one actually wants to see the miter I would have just used the SWEEP command and a path that includes a ninety degree corner.

That's a much better way to do it! :shock:

I have always used SWEEP for curvaceous shapes, I didn't realize it would do that, good call! :beer:
