cameroon95 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Hi guys, im trying to create a square metal grid material thats transpercent. i.e the squares are see through and the rest of the model can be seen through these. Im aware that "masks" have to be used for this purpose, but I havn't used these before and I am not really sure where to start at all! I do have access to Image software like GIMP here is a bitmap that im trying to use- Or if anyone can show me how to simply create a part like that by using techniques in max I would be happy! cheers:) Quote

cameroon95 Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 thanks for that cad, really helped me out! Quote
craigp Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 simply create an inverted colour texture in photoshop and apply it as an Opacity map. This will give you a 'hole' wherever a black colour area is. Quote
