ArcGIS Shp Files using Map 3D 2013

Is anyone out there familiar with using shapefiles (.shp) and manipulating the data that is contained in the shapefiles?

I am new to this mapping world and using GIS files to create functioning Cad dwg's. Spoon feeding would be welcomed!

Thanks,:itsover:

Map 3d 2013. I am new to the mapping aspect of Cad. I have been around it in the past but never needed to use it.

Well, if you only wanna see the graphic content of a shapefile, with its Gis attributes, type in _MAPIMPORT setting it like this:

However, if you must edit the attributes inside, I advise to do it in a Gis opensource, or simply editing the .DBF in Excel (without adding rows).

Fine, thanks.

If you'd like to edit the geometry of your survey data, you should simply _MAPIMPORT that shape in Autocad Map, as explained above (see post 23rd Aug 2012 11:37 am).

However, if you'd like to edit the inner attributes (textual), use the powerful free Mapwindow_Gis or edit the .DBF in Excel, amigo.
