I am new to Building information Modellling. I am going to use it in my research.My problem is that i have to work on dimensions say length,width etc. of a window suppose,but i dont know how to extract such an information from a building. Actually i need the database of a building. Should i have to download a revit file from internet and then convert it to ifc? which BIM software is free to work with?
