I'm having problems plotting some 3d structures. they show up in the plot preview but don't make it onto the sheet!

Is there a setting I'm missing? Layers are on and visible on the layer control.

Thx

Are you plotting from model space or from a layout?

What are you plot parameters set to at the moment?

Hi

I'm plotting from layout, where would I find my plot parameter settings?

Plot Manager.

Things like scale, whether your plotting Display or Window or other, and things like that.

I've just looked at that and there doesn't seem to be anything untoward.

Plotting layout, 1:1 with a plot style specified, I'll try and attach a screen image...

What is it that you are trying to plot? Something you can hold in your hand or the QE2?

Heh Heh! It's a 5500mmx500mmx500mm box steel frame. Nothing too crazy...

I forgot to mention that it occassionally plots parts of the structure and other times nothing at all...

Have you been able to plot the whole drawing in the past? Is this a recent development? What about other similar types of drawings? Any problems with them?

Did you check Layer Manager to see if any of the layers had plotting disabled?

Posted

I haven't been able to plot the whole drawing, the best that happened was one VP plotted and the other didn't. I've just started working in 3D so I haven't had this problem in the past, all 2D plots are fine even with 3D isometric views. Thing is I want the realistic view to avoid confusion with too many lines...

Yeah, all fine...

Sorry, but the above image doesn't look like Layer Manager to me. It looks like you are printing a .jpg image of a rendering. Is that correct?

Would you be comfortable emailing me the file and letting me try to plot it? I promise not to divulge any national security secrets, steal your design or put my initials on the drawing and go into business as an architect.

Thanks ReMark, that would be really helpful.

God, embarrasing though! Please bear in mind that I'm completely self taught over the past year, before that I've been a carpenter and engineer in the Theatre and TV biz...

Just tried to attach but it's about 360kb which is more than the allowed attachment size. Would you mind if I mailed it to an address you have?
