The labels are buried in the "Label Style" you can change these to suit your needs they are a bit complex so start with one that is close, use Edit and save it as another lable do this in your DWT so its always there. Just change one things at a time.

 

How can I adjust labels on a survey line? is way to vauge to answer more details required.

Ok, i'm not trying to highjack, but since this thread is open, I didn't want to start another one.

Here is my problem:

I have a line labeled with bearing and distance (S58°08'15"E12.99') but as you see there is no space between "S" and "58°", also no space between bearing and distance. How can I change settings so that I don't need to change it manually.

Using AutoCAD Civil3D or as your profile says Autocad 2004?

I found my answer, for those interested...

Labels---> Edit Label styles

Under "Units" click on "Angular"---> choose "allow text spaces".
