User2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I'm a little bit confused about the steps of drawing a door hinge. I need to draw sth similar to.dwg file attached. I assume the "Subtract" command was used! what 3D object I should subtract from a shelled-cylinder!Any suggestions! HINGE2.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 You could create that portion of the hinge simply from the 2D geometry and the use of the PressPull command. Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Here is an approximation I quickly worked up. Profile on the left. Result after PressPull on the right. Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Show off. Can we get a Roadrunner cartoon with that video clip too? Wait. I need to get some popcorn and a soda first! Quote
User2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 THANKS A LOT! I don't know why I wanted to make it complicated for myself:cry:! The video was awesome too! You made it easy for me! Quote
JD Mather Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 ... I don't know why I wanted to make it complicated for myself. If you want to get really easy - Inventor has a tool to make this feature for you. I just noticed that my picture is slightly different than the solution you were after - but one thing nice about Inventor is that it is easy to edit the change. Students can download Inventor for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity Quote
