CROWBOTIX Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi can someone tell me why the background colour changes when I'm dwg in 3D, it goes from the normal Charcoal to light brown and then to a mauve colour ?? seems to be pretty random and a bit irritating. and then is it possible to turn it off so it just stays in the charcoal colour ? Apologies if this is a rubbish question, self taught !!! Quote
nestly Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Most likely, you're switching between modelspace and paperspace and/or switching visual styles, and/or switching between Parallel and Perspective views. All of these can produce different background colors, although unless you've changed them, the only one that should be different by default is switching Parallel vs Perspective. Hint, clicking on the "Home" icon beside the Viewcube automatically switches to Perspective view (charcoal by default) and right-clicking on the Viewcube should give a menu with both Perspective settings. CROWBOTIX Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Yeah the only one it can be then is switching between Parellels & Perspective, thanks for the tip. Quote
CROWBOTIX Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 hi Nestly, I just tried what you suggested, Clicking on the Home icon and it did change to perspective view and also changed to mauve !! is there a way of turning that off, as, if I wanted a mauve background Id have changed it in options as you also suggested. the thing is I've looked at all the options like that and I've asked around and no-one seems to know how to turn off the dreaded Mauve !! why does it do that ? it looks dump !! nestly Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I use Perspective view so little that I actually forgot that it changed color when the view angle goes below the horizon, so I think that probably explains all. Quote
CROWBOTIX Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 so do you know of a way of turning the horizon thing off ? Quote
Dadgad Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 so do you know of a way of turning the horizon thing off ? Welcome to the forum CROWBOTIX. I don't know how to turn it off, but you could set the colors of all the individual elements as shown in the image. Quote
