I have a little problem with trim in autocad 2012. After trimming some lines that cut through a circle there's a big gap between the circle and line, so there's no way i can create a polyline. How do I fix it?

Some pics to illustrate the idea

here is the figure w/o trimming

Here it is after trimming

And as you can see there is space between the lines. How can I get the line to connect to the circle?

Did you want the line to "extend" to the circle? I think your use of the word "connect" is incorrect.

If the third picture is after TRIM operation between line and circle, there should be no gap - I suspect that that is just a visualization issue from the way AutoCAD is showing the arcs/circles. Try to call REGEN comamnd and see if is fixed.

Yes, you just need to Regen or Regenall.

Attach file here that exhibits this behavior (gap after trim).

As indicated a Regen should show there is no problem

Back to your original question - you can not polyline edit join those lines the circles without first trimming the circles to arcs.

You might also want to look into geometry constraints like Coincident and (I assume) Tangent. (see the Parametric tab).
