Sky Background & Illumination.jpg

The objective is to create a view from interior looking out to the garden through the glass window.

I imported a Background Image for the garden scene. Selected Sky Background & Illumination from the ribbon. But double-check at the Sun Property palatte, the Status is "Sky off".

Hence I am not sure if the finished render is with the Sky Background & Illumination on or off.

Any feedback please?

Check that you are in perspective view. If you are in a parallel view, the sky effects will be turned off and will not display.

Hello, CADTutor. Thanks for your response.

I did have the view in parallel and I also test few more times. The problem remains.

LIGHTINGUNITS needs to be a 1 or 2, not 0. Try that.

Checked that. The LIGHTINGUNITS is 2.

Thanks for the explanation. It is a very simple tip but not easy to find.

I think it's a good question WHY such setting is required. It's necessary just to start working with lightning.

Otherwise there can be a mistake if you are in ISO view. It's a trap !

LIGHTINGUNITS variable set to 1 or 2 enables Photometric Lighting, which renders as real-world lighting would. This gives you a realistic render. When set to zero, Photometric Lighting is not used and Sun & Sky will not be available.
